Ever catch yourself thinking about a potential outcome of a situation? Do you see it going spectacularly well? Or does the worst possible outcome jump into your brain?
If the latter, Why?
Humans are conditioned to think of the worst potential outcome. We are hard wired to think about our survival, so we must be prepared for the worst in order to know how we’ll attend it if it just so happens to appear.
Here’s the thing.
When you fail, when you lose, when you embarrass yourself, when you go bust.. You don’t die. In the moment you may feel like the world is caving in, but you’ll be okay.
So when contemplating outcomes that don’t pertain to your actual survival, I believe it is a must to train your brain and body to only envision and feel the BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOMES.
There was a study that showed people who simply believed they were lucky were in fact more lucky compared to people who held the belief that they were unlucky. Holding this belief allowed them to hold the space to notice more chance opportunities, listen and act on their intuition, create good luck from positive self fulfilling prophecies and turn bad luck into good luck.
It’s all about how you see things.
Being a delusional optimist has power. That doesn’t mean to ignore reality or emotions. But see the positive possibilities and the positives in others.
